Encrypt given data using bf-cbc cipher algo. Blowfish in CBC (Cipher Block Chaining) mode. This mode XORs each plaintext block with the previous ciphertext block before encryption. Blowfish was designed in 1993 by Bruce Schneier as a fast and secure alternative to existing encryption algorithms. Blowfish is considered secure but is no longer recommended due to its 64-bit block size, which is susceptible to birthday attacks in modern contexts. Our encryption process prepends the IV string used during the encryption process in the encrypted data so that it can be used during decryption.
